Staff Spotlight

Tara Havens - Mrs. Tara Havens graduated college from Northeastern State University and obtained her Early Childhood Education Degree. She then began her teaching career in 2003 with BAPS. She has taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade and for the past 12 years has taught Pre-K. She and her husband have 2 children that attend BAPS and keep them super busy in their sports.

Terri Dickerson - Mrs. Terri Dickerson is a TA here at CWECC. She has been with the district for 15 years and at CWECC since it's opening in 2013. Mrs. Dickerson is a huge fan of OK State Cowboys. Go Pokes!

Robyn Shaw - Mrs. Shaw has been teaching for 26 years. Her family includes her husband Paton, daughter Evan, and basset hound Remington. In her free time, Mrs. Shaw enjoys watching her daughter play soccer, spending time with family, and traveling.

Alexis Hickey-Parker - Mrs. Parker started her career with kids as an Assistant Site Director with Union's Extended day program. This is where her heart pulled her to help the littlest minds learn! In her free time, she likes to watch her daughter fly, play Tee Ball with her son and travel with her family.

AORU (Annual Online Registration Update)

Enrollment for next year opens on Monday, April 6. All current BA students must be re-enrolled in order to attend Broken Arrow Public Schools next year. You will complete this process through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal, which can be accessed through your computer's web server (Parent Portal) or via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal App (found on your phone's app store).

If you are experiencing issues with the Parent Portal, you may visit www.baschools.org/portal and complete the "Contact Us" form for assistance.

Our classes have been busy working on art projects to be displayed at the annual Broken Arrow art show, which will take place April 6-17 at NSU BA. See the flyer below and be sure to visit the art show!

Following the art show, our projects will be brought back to CWECC. We will hold a silent auction for class projects April 21-24. All proceeds will go to our Unified Champions program. 

If you are contacted from the school to pick up your student for any reason, please make every effort to get to the school within 30 minutes. We understand that there are extenuating circumstances that might cause you to be delayed. If this occurs and it will be longer than 30 minutes before you can arrive, please contact someone else who can pick up your child for you and just let our office know who will be arriving so we can release your child to them. As a reminder, anyone picking up a student at any time other than the 2:10-2:37 dismissal window must have the parent ID badge to enter the building and a photo ID in order to pick up the child.

Our end of the year fun day, "Jumping Into Summer" will take place on Tuesday, May 12 (rain date is May 19). If you wish to purchase a t-shirt for your child to wear on this day, please send in $10 cash or check with the order form by Thursday, April 9. We will not be able to place any orders after the April 9 deadline. 

April's weather can be tricky. We will go outside as long as it is not raining. Sometimes we will go outside following rain when the playground might be a bit wet. Please ensure that your child has a change of clothes and shoes in his/her backpack each day...just in case.😉
