This month is all about the love! ❤ Our students will be learning about how we make friends and how to be a good friend to others. We will also celebrate our similarities and differences. Ask your child what things they are learning about how to be a good friend!

By this time of the school year, pre-k students should be gaining more independence, and we are working on this with the students. You can help your child become more independent at home by practicing the following skills: when exiting the building, let your child walk out carrying their own backpack, lunchbox, etc., dressing/undressing themself (including coats), give your child options for food (snacks) and clothes, encourage toileting and self-care independence such as brushing own teeth, bathing, brushing hair, picking up toys, opening own containers and feeding self with utensils, putting shoes on correctly, and give age-appropriate daily chores.

February Community Project

Our school has a fun Valentine activity during the month of February. We are asking for friends and family to send in Valentines from all over the US and the world! We will be tracking where our Valentines have come from and placing them on a map!

Global School Play Day

We are excited to be participating in Global School Play Day on February 4. This day of technology-free play is observed in schools all over the United States and the world. Students in over 80 countries will be participating.

Throughout the school day students will have ample time for free-play without the use of screens, adult-led games/activities/direction. The idea is to let children explore their creativity, problem-solving skills, and social interactions in an unstructured and spontaneous environment all day. Children may bring a non-electronic toy to share (toy cannot require batteries or plug-in). Examples: play sets, dolls, games, cars, puzzles.
